Selfish Sewing Week: Part 2

Still sewing...

I made this dress last night and I'm wearing it today!

Pattern: Pattern mash of the Lisette Passport dress and the Lisette Diplomat (for the sleeves - not seen here 'cause it's too cold!) Other changes: No side zip. Bound neckline. Size 14.
Fabric: Liberty Carnaby jersey knit.

Next up, a denim Passport jacket to go with it.

  1. Love it. Looks great on you, and must be nice and comfortable too. Where did you get that stunning fabric??

    1. Thanks Marisa.
It was from www.fabric.com I had been eyeing it and just then they had a sale on knit fabrics. yay! There is one fabric still there listed as Liberty Carnaby Jersey (and it's a great print). It's so lovely to sew and wear. The Liberty Dufour jersey is a bit thinner (I think) and might not work for skirts or dresses as it may be see-through.

    1. Thanks Suzy. I will get around to putting up some more details about the armhole/sleeve tracing and a bit of a how-to. As much so that I remember my changes from the last one to this one, but to help out anyone who can feel a knit dress inside of them!

  4. It never occurred to me to use a knit with this pattern. (saw your post in the flickr group) what a great idea!

    1. Thanks! I had some knit fabric and was wondering what to do with it. I resisted buying another pattern (must have been ill, huh?!) and went with what I had on the shelf. Happy accident.

    1. Thank you Christine. A jersey dress seems the perfect balance of everyday comfort but not the same as T-shirt and track pants!
